Frequently Asked Questions
Not at this time. However, I do offer a sliding scale option for those who request it. My priority is to offer quality, affordable mental health care.
Please note: Using insurance requires a mental health diagnosis, which becomes part of your health record. While I provide diagnoses when needed, I believe you are more than a label. What’s often seen as a “diagnosis” can be a natural response to difficult experiences, and our work focuses on easing symptoms and supporting your well-being while not getting stuck on labels. Lastly, insurance can sometimes restrict the number of sessions or end coverage unexpectedly, so I mindfully work with clients to find the most supportive and consistent path for their healing.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy approach that helps your brain process painful or overwhelming experiences by uses gentle, guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation (like tapping or sound). Sometimes, past events can feel “stuck,” showing up as strong emotions, negative beliefs, or physical tension long after the event is over. EMDR can help your brain reprocess these memories so they no longer carry the same weight. This can be especially helpful if talk therapy alone hasn’t brought the sense of relief or clarity you’re looking for.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, compassionate approach that helps you understand the different “parts” of yourself, such as the part that worries, the part that controls, or the part that feels hurt. Instead of judging or trying to get rid of these parts, IFS helps you listen to them with curiosity and care. By doing so, many people experience more emotional balance, self-compassion, and clarity, and feel better equipped to respond to stress, relationships, and life challenges in a healthier way.
Hypnotherapy is a non-intrusive, guided process that helps you enter a calm, focused state where the mind becomes more open and flexible. In this relaxed state, it can be easier to explore and shift long-standing patterns, beliefs, or habits that may feel stuck. Many people find hypnotherapy helpful for reducing stress and anxiety, building confidence, working through emotional blocks, and gaining clarity around specific concerns — all while remaining awake, aware, and in control.
Yes. While I specialize in other modalities, I also offer Talk Therapy as a supportive space to share what’s on your mind, process your experiences, and explore patterns in your life. Rather than giving advice, my role is to listen deeply, reflect with you, and help you gain new perspective. Together, we explore what feels heavy or unclear and practice skills that support stress management, emotional balance, and healthier relationships. Sessions are always at a pace that feels right for you and aligned with your values and goals.
Yes. Therapy can be a blend of different approaches based on your needs, goals, and comfort level. Sessions may include talk therapy for processing and insight, IFS to understand and work with different parts of yourself, EMDR to gently process past experiences, and hypnotherapy to address patterns at a deeper level. We move at your pace and adjust the approach as you go, creating a personalized path that supports meaningful and sustainable change.
At this time, I only offer therapeutic services to individuals aged 18 or older. My goal for Rooted in Presence is to expand into more offerings in the future, including EMDR for children, teens, couples, families, and groups.
