Introducing Meet Your Parts: A Therapy Group for the Parts of You That Feel Stuck
Updated: Aug 30
As Rooted in Presence approaches its first anniversary on October 1st, I've been reflecting on everything this practice has grown into, and one of the offerings I'm most excited about is a therapy group I've been developing for a while now: Meet Your Parts.
Have you ever felt like part of you wants to move forward while another part keeps pulling you back? Maybe you know exactly what you "should" do, but something inside still won't let you do it. That inner tug-of-war isn't a flaw. It's a sign that different parts of you are carrying different jobs, fears, and wounds, and they haven't yet learned to work together.
That's exactly what Meet Your Parts was created to address. This post introduces the group, who it's for, and what you can expect if you decide to join.

What Is Meet Your Parts?
Meet Your Parts is a virtual therapy group built on my Rooted Method, an integrative approach blending Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory with practical skills (CBT, DBT, ACT), expressive arts, EMDR, and mindfulness. Rather than treating anxiety, self-doubt, or old patterns as problems to eliminate, this group helps you understand them as parts of you that are trying, in their own way, to help.
Together, you'll learn to connect with these different parts of yourself, deepen your sense of self, and come home to wholeness.
Why a Group, and Not Just Individual Therapy?
Group therapy offers something individual sessions can't: the experience of healing alongside others who truly understand. Hearing your own story reflected back in someone else's words, and realizing you're not alone in what you carry, is often where the deepest shifts happen.
I know starting a therapy group can feel intimidating: the fear of being seen, of being vulnerable in front of strangers. But there's power in healing alongside others who get it. This group is designed to hold that vulnerability gently, at a pace that feels supportive.
What You'll Work On in Meet Your Parts
This group blends four core elements:
Practical skills from CBT, DBT, and ACT to help you navigate anxiety, reactivity, and hard emotions in the moment.
Expressive arts to access what's often hard to put into words.
EMDR, including the butterfly hug, to gently process what's been stuck.
Mindfulness to build present-moment awareness and nervous system regulation.
We begin each session by prioritizing nervous system regulation, so your body feels grounded and supported before anything else. From there, we explore the parts of you connected to anxiety, disconnection, and patterns like people-pleasing, self-doubt, or feeling stuck, working at the root rather than only managing symptoms on the surface.
Ready to Meet Your Parts?
If you feel ready to begin group therapy and connect with the parts of yourself that feel stuck, disconnected, or unheard, I invite you to reach out. We'll move at a pace that feels supportive, alongside others who understand, while creating space for meaningful, lasting change.

FAQs
Is this based on Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
Yes. Meet Your Parts draws on IFS principles, helping you understand your inner "parts," such as the inner critic, the people-pleaser, or the protector, and build a more compassionate relationship with each of them.
Do I need prior therapy experience to join?
No. Many members are new to group therapy and feel nervous about being seen or vulnerable in front of others. That's a normal part of starting, and the group is paced to meet you where you are.
Is this covered by insurance?
No, the group is currently not able to be billed through insurance.
🌳 I offer a monthly flat fee that operates much like a (non-contractual) membership. This is great for clients seeking weekly group sessions on a regular basis, as it saves you money in the long run.
The membership provides you up to four group sessions per month, and the flat fee is $150.
Any additional group sessions per month will be $37.50.
🌿 The next option is to pay as you go. The fee is $45 per session.
🌱 I also offer a sliding scale option for those who request it. I believe in accessible mental health care for all people, so please don't hesitate to ask.
Is it in person or virtual?
Meet Your Parts is a virtual group, open to residents of Texas.
